Your skin biopsy will be sent to UT DermPath for processing and interpretation by a board-certified dermatopathologist. UT DermPath will bill your insurance using the information you provided.
Uninsured Patients
If you do not have insurance
You will receive a self-pay rate.
If you do not have insurance and require financial assistance to pay your bill
You can complete our financial assistance application at https://www.universityclinicalhealth.com/charity-care and your eligibility will be considered based on the UCH Financial Assistance/Charity Care policy. This must be completed by the patient.
Insured Patients
If you have health insurance
We will file a claim with your insurance plan(s) provided by your physician’s office. You will be responsible for any co-pay, co-insurance, and/or deductible amounts defined by your insurer’s Explanation of Benefits (EOB). If you are unable to pay your balance in full, you may contact our office to request a payment plan by calling (901) 902-5380 or emailing uch.dermpathbilling@uthsc.edu. A list of in-network insurance plans can be found at www.utdermpath.org. If you are not sure if your insurance is in network, please contact us to inquire.
If you choose not to use your insurance
You will receive a self-pay rate. You must request this on the UT DermPath Self Pay Patient form provided by your physician’s office to be sent to us with your biopsy.
If your insurance is out-of-network with UT DermPath
You will be charged a rate comparable to your in-network rate, including any applicable co-pay, co-insurance, and/or deductible. If you are unable to pay your balance in full, you may contact our office to request a payment plan by calling (901) 902-5380 or emailing uch.dermpathbilling@uthsc.edu.
